Server Chat
On MinePix you can chat in two ways: local or global.
Here’s how they work and when to use each.
Local Chat
- Only nearby players (within ~100 blocks) can see your message.
- Great for small talk around your base, trading with neighbors, or local events.
Use local chat when:
- You only want people close to you to see the message.
- You don’t want to flood the global channel.
Global Chat
- Visible to everyone online.
- Best for announcements, finding a group, asking questions, or sharing info useful for all.
Tips:
- Keep it short and relevant.
- For frequent trade messages, stick to local chat if possible.
Chat Rules (Quick Version)
- No spam or repeating the same message.
- No insults, toxicity, or provocation.
- Ads for outside resources only if allowed.
- Stay on topic (local for local, global for everyone).
⚠️ Breaking rules can lead to warnings or chat bans.
Private Messages
- Send:
/msg <name> <message>
- Reply:
/r <message>
Safety:
- Don’t share personal info or passwords.
- Report suspicious offers to moderators.
Ignore & Filters
- Ignore a player:
/ignore <name>
- Remove ignore:
/ignore <name>
- View ignored list:
/ignorelist
Anti-Spam & Behavior
- Don’t spam or flood with symbols/emojis.
- Don’t advertise without permission.
- Avoid toxic or aggressive behavior.
- Post trade ads at reasonable intervals.
Mute (Temporary Chat Ban)
If you get muted:
- You can’t chat or PM.
- The mute duration will be shown in a system message.
- Think it’s a mistake? Contact moderators on Discord.
